A new basic series of our barrel furniture is here. Oil barrel chair “Lou” shines with some innovations, so we have increased the seat height to 43cm. Barrel chair “Lou” stands on four sturdy legs with rubber feet. The wooden seat plate is removable and there is space for many things underneath. This means that the seat barrel also has a very practical storage space.
As is usual with “Tonnen “Tumult”, industrial materials that have already been used have also been refurbished for the “Lou” oil drum chair. The steel barrel already had a different use before its new furniture existence and the processed wood comes from used disposable pallets. Of course, the wood was sanded, then stapled together and flambéed. Then clear varnished several times. The matt color on the barrel furniture also has several layers and was then sealed with clear lacquer.
Oil barrel armchair “Lou” is made from a 200 liter steel barrel, extremely solid and durable. The handle on the backrest and all other cut edges are equipped with a black PVC edge protection with a metal core. The removable seat plate of the barrel chair has an opening in the middle.
If you would like to make the rustic seat of the oil drum chair a little more comfortable, we have matching, handmade cushions that you can order separately. With this you increase the seat height again by six centimetres. You can find more exciting oil barrel seating here.

The oil barrel basic furniture from “Tonnen Tumult” oildrum.shop not only convinces with a good workmanship, but also with its optically imperfect charm! Because with these unique upcycling products there are small dents here and there under the paint in the barrel chair and mini nail holes on the wooden boards – and it is precisely these mini flaws that make the industrial style stand out! In addition, there may be slight scratches on the underside of the oil drum chair – these are not visible when in use and do not affect the functionality in any way. So if you are looking for an original, unique piece with character, you will be amazed by the barrel furniture!
