What is Tonnen Tumult?
Tonnen Tumult is an online store for industrial design furniture. Upcycling of steel drums and wooden pallets to beautiful and practical unique pieces. Tonnen Tumult is a trading branch of the company ‘Xtreme event services e.K.‘ from Mönchengladbach. Xtreme-Events employs about 20 permanent employees and has existed continuously since 1999 under the management of the owner Jimmy Jensch. Tonnen Tumult is his new passion since 2021.
Where are Tonnen Tumult furniture produced?
The furniture is made in Thailand. All products were developed together under the supervision of the owner of Tonnen Tumult. Small series are now produced there, each piece of furniture is checked after completion, well packed and stored. Once the series is ready, it goes into the overseas container to Germany. Here the products are stored in Mönchengladbach and shipped from there. The small company in Thailand operates in a progressive and extremely employee-friendly manner. Fair payment and top working conditions are given and are besides the product quality always checked by us personally.
Brandings like fonts and logos are added by us in Germany. Also, special paint jobs in desired colors are implemented here by a professional car paint shop.
Is there a
Tonnen Tumult Showroom?
No! We currently do not have a showroom or exhibits available to view. Our address is purely a warehouse, all products are well packaged for shipping and stored on high shelves.
Order your piece of furniture and look at it in the comfort of your own home. If you don’t like it, you can easily exchange/return it.
Self-collection is possible, please select this when placing your order. After receipt of payment, we will be happy to arrange a pickup date during the day/weekdays, as the warehouse is rarely occupied. Unfortunately, it is not possible to unpack and inspect it in our warehouse. Collection on weekends is not possible.

The Tonnen Tumult furniture is versatile, commercial or private: trade shows, events, catering, reception and waiting areas or just at home on the terrace, in the kitchen, etc.

Are the Tonnen Tumult
furniture outdoor suitable?
Indoor suitable everywhere and outdoor as well. That is why our seating sets have no or removable cushions. A downpour does not affect the furniture, the water runs off. In order for you to enjoy the look of the Tonnen Tumult furniture for many years, we recommend placing the seating sets under a roof or covering them with protective covers when not in use (see Upgrades).
How are
Tonnen Tumult furniture shipped?
Depending on the size of the product and the size of the order, we ship either by parcel service or by freight forwarding. The furniture is usually delivered to the curbside, for the transport to the apartment or to the planned installation site is then the customer himself responsible.
Tonnen Tumult products are well packed and usually delivered in solid cartons, sometimes on pallets. Check the packaging of the goods immediately upon receipt in the presence of the delivery service, photograph any damage, note the damage on the delivery bill and have it signed by the driver.
Is it possible to pick up the oil barrel furniture by myself?
Yes, but only after scheduling. The goods are well packed in high shelves. It is absolutely necessary to make an appointment, so we can check your order before and preposition for self-collection.
What about warranty/guarantee on Tonnen Tumult furniture?
The warranty law also applies to us. You as a buyer have one year to complain about a defect if it was already present when you received the item. However, the seller is not liable for a defect that occurred after you received the goods. For clarification, please send us a brief explanation and a picture of the defect.
What about complaints and returns?
The Tonnen Tumult furniture is perfectly finished but visually perfectly imperfect! They are upcycled products, so already used industrial goods modified into a piece of furniture. The barrels have scattered small dents under the new paint and the wooden boards have small nail holes. In addition, the underside of the bottom fold or feet may have slight scratches due to the movement during production, but these are not visible in use (as written, underside). These blemishes are visible even after processing. This is retro industrial style and not a reason for complaint.
Returns are of course possible, but are at the expense of the buyer.
